Our statistics about Ireland are independent and reliable, because you told us.
The information you give us lets us create a very accurate picture of what it means to live in Ireland today - our lives, our economy, our health, our education, our happiness and well-being.
As part of this ongoing initiative, the CSO has invited randomly selected citizens to participate in a series of short surveys designed to collect valuable information on a diverse range of topics such as your life online, your thoughts regarding the environment, and your wellbeing.
Thank you to those who have agreed to take part and provided us with your details. Your participation helps the CSO provide accurate data for evidence-based decision making on topics such as health, finance and infrastructure. Your role is an important part in shaping policies and services that impact communities and improve quality for life across the country.
Participation is voluntary. If you do wish to opt out at any point, please email us at CSOTakePart@cso.ie, and we will remove you from this panel.
The CSO invited randomly selected citizens to become part of the CSO Survey Panel and those who agreed to participate in this panel are eligible. The panel is supplemented by citizens who have taken part in other CSO surveys and have agreed to be added to the CSO Survey Panel.
The people on the CSO Survey Panel will be requested to complete a short new survey every few months. They may be contacted via email, letter or telephone.
For those who receive an email or letter, there will be essential details included that will allow you to access the survey online and log on using your CSO identifier and PIN. Completing the surveys should only take about 15 minutes.
For those who receive a phone call, please answer the questions asked over the phone, and note that the estimated time to complete a survey over the phone will be slightly longer.

For this panel, the CSO have selected a random selection of the population.
If you have been previously contacted and have agreed to participate as survey panel member, we will be in contact regularly via the details you have confirmed with us and will notify you of all relevant surveys to be completed.
Taking part is voluntary but it is important that as many people as possible take part to build as accurate a picture of life in Ireland as possible. If you want to opt out at any time, simply email CSOTakePart@cso.ie and we will remove your name from the list.
