The County Incomes and Regional GDP was published on 16th February 2023. Data within the publication were revised on 23rd May 2023. A methodology change was introduced in Regional GDP and County Incomes 2020 for the calculation of total employed. The PAYE modernisation dataset from the Revenue Commissioners was introduced to refine county level employment figures. The introduction of new administrative data created consistency issues when compared against estimates on numbers employed produced by the Labour Force Survey (LFS). To ensure uniformity with the LFS it has been necessary to adjust the figures for total employed at the county and NUTS 3 level. While the distribution of total employed at county and NUTS 3 has changed, the state total for total employed remains the same and is consistent with the figure produced by Annual National Accounts. All other data is unaffected by the revisions to total number employed.
