In order to enhance the quality of the data, a review of Business Demography data for 2019 and 2020 was undertaken. As a result, the 2019 and 2020 publications were withdrawn in April 2023.
The review identified some processing issues with the administrative data used to compile Business Demography data and, consequently, all data for 2019 and 2020 has now been revised with the 2021 publications methodology. The 2019 and 2020 publications have not been reissued and the revised data is instead included in the 2021 publication. Likewise, PxStat data for both years has now also been updated.
Table 1 below includes summary figures for 2019 and 2020 as originally published and the now revised figures for comparison purposes.
