Greenhouse Gas Emissions

This indicator refers to Greenhouse Gas Emissions (CO2, N2O, CH4, HFC, PFC, SF6) '000 Tonnes COEquivalent. Carbon dioxide is the main contributor to greenhouse gas emissions. Other greenhouse gases are converted into tonnes of CO2 equivalent by multiplying their masses by their global warming potentials.

Territorial emissions are emissions produced on the territory of Ireland. They are reported annually by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and are used to determine whether Ireland has met its legally binding emissions targets.
