This section provides information on the Early Start Pre-School Programme.

The Early Start Programme is a program available to pre-school children in some schools in disadvantaged areas. It is a one year scheme for children between the ages of three and five, who are at risk of not reaching their potential in school. It involves enhancing the child's overall development, helping to prevent school failure and aims to reduce the effects of social disadvantage.
