Children and Young Persons Hub

This Children and Young Persons Hub has been developed by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) to serve as an accessible source for key information on children and young people in Ireland using the latest data from the CSO and other public service bodies.

It reports on the lives of children and young people in Ireland and provides a broad range of statistics on this group, their views on society and the activities they partake in.

The hub covers a broad range of topics including health, education, and poverty as well as many other aspects of the lives of children and young people in Ireland. This hub provides information across eight themes and focuses on the most recent data available.

There are different ways of defining children and young persons. Generally, the statistics provided in this hub categorise young persons as those aged 16-24 and children as those aged under 18. However, based on data availability these definitions may vary.

The statistics have been sourced from a variety of CSO publications and sources from across the government system. Links to the relevant publications are included throughout the Hub. We thank all data providers for their support.

Please note: The CSO is not responsible for the quality of data from the external sources.
