This publication has been compiled during the COVID-19 crisis. The results contained in this publication reflect some of the impacts of the COVID-19 situation.

Main results

  • In 2021 there were 18,946 small public service vehicles licensed to operate in the state. More than half (53%) of these were based in Dublin. See Table 10.2

  • Toyota was the most popular manufacturer of PSVs (29%), followed by Skoda (16%) and Ford (9%).

  • Wheelchair accessible taxis and hackneys represented 17% (3,250) of the total small public service vehicles in 2021. In comparison, wheelchair accessible taxis and hackneys represented 16% (3,131) of the total small public service vehicles in 2020.
