During 2015, a total of 249,599 penalty point endorsement notices were issued, an increase of 7.1% on the previous year. Over three quarters (75.4%) of the penalty point endorsement notices issued in 2015 were for speeding. The number of endorsement notices for the use of a vehicle without an N.C.T. Certificate rose by 150.7% to 7,408 in 2015.
Males incurred more penalty point endorsement notices than females in 2015. Of the 210,914 endorsement notices where gender was recorded, males incurred 132,467 (62.8%) penalty point endorsement notices while females incurred 78,450 (37.2%) notices.
