Ireland’s biggest goods trade surplus in 2023 was with the US. The value of exports in goods was over twice the value of imports in goods, giving a trading surplus of €31 billion with the US. There was a surplus of €15.7 billion with Belgium, and a surplus of €11.5 billion with Germany.
The largest trade deficit in 2023 was with France, with €6.7 billion of exports in goods and €17.6 billion of imports in goods recorded, giving a trading deficit of almost €10.9 billion. The deficit was largely due to imports of aircraft.
