Record levels of exports and imports in 2022

Ireland exported €208 billion of goods in 2022 and imported €141 billion. Over €134 billion of exports were of Chemicals & Related Products, comprising 64% of total exports. Machinery & Transport Equipment accounted for 14% of exports and Food & Live Animals were €14.7 billion, or 7% of the total.

Machinery & Transport Equipment was 37% of total imports, with a value of over €52 billion. This includes imports of aircraft. Imports of Chemicals & Related Products accounted for €38 billion (27%), while Food & Live Animals imports accounted for 7% of the total.
