We exported €50 billion of goods, almost one-third of total exports, to the USA in 2020, making it our largest single export market. We exported €37 billion more to the USA than we imported in 2020.
There were €20 billion of imports from the UK in 2020, our largest import partner.
Ireland exported €13 billion of food and drinks in 2020 and imported €9 billion. The largest partner for both exports and imports of food and drinks was the UK. Over €4.8 billion of food and drink was exported to the UK in 2020, and €4.3 billion was imported.
In 2020, we imported 20kg of bananas, 13kg of apples, 11kg of oranges and 8kg of onions for every person in Ireland.
