The number of passengers travelling through the main Irish airports in February 2022 was more than 15 times of that of February 2021. However, the number of passengers travelling through the main airports in February 2022 was still 35% lower than the same month in 2020, (before COVID-19).
The number of passengers in Dublin airport in February 2022 was almost 14 times higher than in February 2021, but only 65% of the level seen in the same month in 2020. There were 1,313,698 passengers in February 2022 compared with 2,030,643 for the same month in 2020. See Table 4.1 and Figure 4.1.
(Note: Knock airport was closed from April to June 2020 and from February to May 2021. Cork Airport was closed in October 2021.)
