e-Commerce sales as a percentage of total sales for large enterprises in 2018

This chapter shows ICT usage by enterprises with 10 or more persons employed in Ireland in 2018. It provides information on enterprises with e-Commerce sales and purchases. It also provides information on enterprises using broadband and mobile broadband connections.

In 2018, e-Commerce sales accounted for 42% of total sales for large enterprises, 29% of total sales for medium sized enterprises and 24% for small enterprises.

In 2018, e-Commerce purchases accounted for 43% of all purchases for large enterprises, 29% of total purchases for medium sized enterprises and 31% for small enterprises.

Across all employment size classes in 2018, the proportion of enterprises that have made e-Commerce purchases was higher than those enterprises who have made e-Commerce sales. Small enterprises had the greatest difference between e-Commerce purchases and sales.
