Output and Value Added by Activity 2021
Please note: On 21 November 2022, following publication, two errors were amended in the transcript below. Industry GVA was 41% of Output when it should have read 53%. Production Industries share of Ireland's Output in 2021 was 34% when it should have read 36%. The Infographic itself was unaffected.
Output €791billion (up 11.5%) minus Intermediate Consumption (IC) €390billion (up 8.9%) equals Gross Value Added (GVA) €401billion (up 14%)
The breakdown of output between inputs and value added across sectors in 2021:
- Industry: IC 47%, GVA 53%
- Distribution, Transport and Communication: IC 59%, GVA 41%
- Business Services: IC 39%, GVA 61%
- Construction: IC 69%, GVA 31%
