Domestic Milk Intake by creameries and pasteurisers was estimated at 500.4 million litres for November 2022. This represents a 7.4% increase when compared with November 2021.
Domestic Milk Intake for the period January to November 2022 was estimated at 8,557.5 million litres, an increase of 57.7 million litres (+0.7%) when compared with the corresponding period for 2021.
Fat content increased from 4.90% in November 2021 to 4.98% in November 2022. Protein content increased marginally from 3.89% to 3.90% over the same period.
Butter production increased from 17,800 tonnes in November 2021 to 18,600 tonnes in November 2022, an increase of 4.3%.
Table 1 presents analysis on month versus month and year-to-date comparisons of the current year and previous year's domestic milk intake.
Figure 1 shows up-to-date trends of monthly domestic milk intake for 2021 and 2022.
