Almost two-thirds of goods imports from the UK were by SMEs, with a value of €14.5 billion. Of this amount, €5 billion, almost a quarter of all UK imports, was imported by micro enterprises. Large enterprises imported €7.3 billion, or one-third of all imports from the UK.
More than two thirds of enterprises who import from the UK have fewer than 10 employees while 2% of importers have more than 250 employees. Although there are only about 450 large enterprises who import from the UK they are responsible for one third of UK imports in value terms.
