Enterprise size is determined by the number of employees. SMEs include micro (less than 10 employees), small (10 to 49) and medium enterprises (50 to 249). Large enterprises have 250 employees or more.
Approximately 60% of the total value of exports to the UK in 2016 was from SMEs, with a value of €8.3 billion. The remaining 40% was from Large enterprises who exported €6.2 billion of goods to the UK.
