Unadjusted goods exports were €17.3 billion in November 2022, an increase of €1.7 billion compared with November 2021.
Unadjusted goods imports were €11.9 billion, which was €1.4 billion higher than imports in November 2021.
Seasonally adjusted goods exports were €16.2 billion in November 2022, a decrease of €2 billion compared with October 2022.
Seasonally adjusted goods imports were €10.9 billion in November 2022.
Imports from Great Britain were €2.1 billion in November 2022, while exports to Great Britain were €1.6 billion.

Seasonally adjusted goods exports decreased by €2,014 million (-11%) to €16,211 million in November 2022 compared with October 2022, according to preliminary figures.
Seasonally adjusted goods imports decreased by €1,435 million (-12%) to €10,942 million leading to a decrease of €579 million (-10%) in the seasonally adjusted trade surplus to €5,269 million in November 2022 compared with October 2022 (see Table 2). Seasonal adjustment compares month-to-month data by removing fluctuations that may occur due to seasonal patterns in trade.

The (unadjusted) value of goods exports increased by €1,692 million (+11%) to €17,316 million in November 2022 compared with November 2021. The value of goods exports for the period January to November 2022 increased by €41,036 million (+27%) to €193,697 million, when compared with the same period of 2021.
The (unadjusted) value of goods imports increased by €1,443 million (+14%) to €11,853 million in November 2022 compared with November 2021. The value of goods imports for the first 11months of 2022 increased by €36,245 million (+39%) to €128,917 million, when compared with the same period of 2021.
Exports to Great Britain were €1,602 million, which was (9%) of total exports in November 2022. The products accounting for the largest share of exports were Chemicals & Related Products, with €571 million and Food & Live Animals at €364 million.
Imports from Great Britain in November 2022 were €2,061 million, which was 17% of the total value of imports. Imports of Mineral Fuels accounted for €612 million, and imports of Chemicals & Related Products were valued at €402 million (see Table 5).
The EU accounted for €6,616 million (38%) of total goods exports in November 2022, of which €1,706 million went to the Netherlands, €1,354 million went to Belgium and €1,260 million went to Germany.
The USA was the main non-EU destination accounting for €5,164 million (30%) of total exports in November 2022 (see Table 4).

Exports of Medical & Pharmaceutical Products increased by €569 million (+9%) to €6,693 million in November 2022 compared with November 2021. This represented 39% of total exports.
Exports of Organic Chemicals decreased by €195 million (-9%) to €2,082 million.
Exports of Professional, Scientific & Controlling Apparatus increased by €376 million (+56%) to €1,045 million
Exports of Food & Live Animals increased by €202 million (+17%) to €1,360 million in November 2022 compared with November 2021 (see Table 3).
Imports of Mineral Fuels, Lubricants & Related Products increased by €288 million (+40%) to €1,003 million in November 2022 compared with November 2021.
Imports of Machinery Specialised for Particular Industries increased by €201 million (+108%) to €388 million.
Imports of Office Machines & Automatic Data Processing Machines increased by €290 million (+66%) to €732 million.
Imports of Electrical Machinery, Apparatus & Appliances increased by €176 million (+22%) to €964 million.
The value of goods imports for November 2022 excluding SITC 79 (Other Transport Equipment, Including Aircraft) increased by €1,550 million (+17%) to €10,475 million, compared with the corresponding November 2021 figure of €8,926 million (see Table 3).

Statistician's Comment
The Central Statistics Office (CSO) has today (16 January 2023) released Goods Exports and Imports November 2022.
Commenting on the release, Ciarán Counihan, Statistician in the International Trade in Goods Division said: “In November 2022, Ireland’s unadjusted exports of goods increased by €1.7 billion to €17.3 billion compared with November 2021. When seasonally adjusted, exports of goods fell by €2 billion in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.
The unadjusted imports for November 2022 were valued at €11.9 billion, an increase of €1.4 billion on November 2021. Seasonally adjusted imports were €10.9 billion in November 2022.
Comparing the first 11 months of 2022 with the same period in 2021, exports of goods increased by 27%, and the value of imports increased by 39%. Exports for January to November 2022 were more than €193 billion.
Imports from Great Britain grew by 30% to €2.1 billion in November 2022 compared with November 2021, where the largest increases were in the imports of Mineral Fuels and Chemicals & Related products.
Exports to Great Britain decreased by 6% to €1.6 billion in November 2022 from November 2021.”
