- Foreign-owned multinationals in Ireland had 571,642 persons employed with a combined turnover of €798.8 billion
- Irish multinationals abroad had 1,241,046 persons employed in foreign affiliates and generated turnover of €263.0 billion in 2021
- The Top 50 enterprises in the business economy by GVA1, accounted for 75.8% of total Gross Operating Surplus, 60.2% of total GVA, and 48.5% of total turnover, despite having just 3.7% of total persons employed
- The Services sector had the highest number of persons employed with 1,203,619 (59.3%), followed by Distribution with 383,020 (18.9%), Industry with 271,263 (13.4%), and Construction with 170,446 (8.4%) persons employed
