In the 12 months to March 2025, the Agricultural Output Price Index rose by 20.8%, while the Agricultural Input Price Index fell by 1.5%.
The Agricultural Output Price Index for March 2025 was up by 2.2% in the month since February 2025, while the Input Price Index was up by 0.8%.
The most significant Output Price increases in the 12 months to March 2025 were in Cattle (+40.4%), Milk (+17.6%), and Sheep (+4.3%), while decreases were recorded in Potatoes (-9.3%) and Vegetables (-1.6%).
Over the 12 months to March 2025, reductions in the Input prices were recorded for Feed (-5.5%), and Seeds (-1.9%), while Veterinary Expenses increased by 4.7% and Fertilisers went up by 3.6%.
Terms of Trade rose by 1.4% in March 2025 when compared with the previous month and was 22.7% higher when compared with March 2024.

Statistician's Comment
The Central Statistics Office (CSO) has today (14 May 2025) published Agricultural Price Indices March 2025.
Commenting on the release, Sam Scriven, Senior Statistician in the Agriculture Division, said: "Agricultural prices rose in the month to March 2025 with the Agricultural Output Price Index increasing by 2.2% and the Input Price Index rising by 0.8%.
Compared with March 2024, the Output Price Index has risen by 20.8%, while the Input Price Index has fallen by 1.5%.
The Output Price Indices for Cattle (+40.4%), Milk (+17.6%), and Sheep (+4.3%) all rose over the 12 months to March 2025 while the Indices for Potatoes (-9.3%) and Vegetables (-1.6%) were both lower than in March 2024.
Within the Input Price Index, Feeding Stuffs (-5.5%), and Seeds (-1.9%) were lower than in March 2024."
