The agricultural output price index decreased by 1.5% in February 2018 compared with January 2018. The agricultural input price index increased by 0.5% over the same period. The resulting terms of trade index decreased by 1.9% in February 2018.
On an annual basis, the agricultural output price index was up 3.6% in February 2018 compared with February 2017. The agricultural input price index increased by 1.9% in February 2018 compared with February 2017.
A further comparison of the February 2018 output sub-indices with the February 2017 sub-indices show that the largest increases were in sheep and milk which were up 11.4% and 8.4% respectfully.
On the input side, the biggest increases were in electricity and fertilisers, up 6.8% and 3.6% on February 2017 prices.
