Of this total, personal consumption of goods and services accounts for 46.3%, net expenditure by central and local government on current goods and services accounts for 16.6% while gross domestic fixed capital formation accounts for 37.1%.

For this deglobalised measure, personal consumption of goods and services accounts for 58.3%, net expenditure by central and local government on current goods and services accounts for 21.0% while modified gross domestic capital formation accounts for 20.7%.

(a) Personal consumption of goods and services
(b) Net expenditure by central and local government
(c) Gross domestic fixed capital formation
Final Domestic Demand grew by 4.0% in real terms in 2023 compared with 2022. When the Value of physical changes in stocks and net acquisitions of valuables are taken into account, Total Domestic Demand increased by 6.0% in the year.
Modified Final Domestic Demand, comprises of:
(a) Personal consumption of goods and services
(b) Net expenditure by central and local government
(c) Modified Gross domestic fixed capital formation – Excludes investment in Aircraft related to Leasing, and R&D service imports and trade in IP
Modified Final Domestic Demand expanded by 2.6% in year 2023 over 2022 in real terms while Modified Total Domestic Demand (which also includes the value of physical changes in stocks and net acquisitions of valuables) increased by 5.3% over the same period.
