When updating revised data on PxStat (the CSO’s main data dissemination service), you are required to enter the appropriate Reason to Publish (Revision) code(s) as part of the update. The Reason to Publish codes are as follows:
Code |
Label |
Description |
---|---|---|
1 |
Normal |
Normal Dissemination / Release e.g. adding new period. Use this code when adding new data to an existing table or building a new table. |
2 |
Routine |
Planned Routine Revision e.g. preliminary to final, seasonal factors etc. Use this code when updating data that has been previously disseminated where the revision is planned and routine (Section 3.1 of this policy). |
3 |
Major |
Planned Major Revision e.g. additional data sources available, rebasing, methodological or classification change etc. Use this code when updating data that has been previously disseminated where the revision is planned and deemed major (Section 3.2 of this policy). |
4 |
Unplanned |
Unplanned Revision e.g. data error correction, unforeseen methodological or classification change etc. Use this code when updating data that has been previously disseminated where the revision is unplanned (Section 3.3 of this policy). |
If you are both adding data for a new time period and updating data already published, you must select more than one revision code. For example, if you are adding data for a new period and updating data for the previous period from provisional to final you should select revision codes 1 and 2.
In addition, you are also required to provide a brief description in the comment field explaining the scale and reasons for the update when revising previously disseminated data (e.g. Adding provisional data for Q1 2021 and updating data for Q4 2020 from provisional to final).
