How will I know that the interviewer is from the CSO?

The interviewer will show you her/his CSO photograph identification. Under no circumstances should you accept any other ID. Please phone the CSO using the LoCall number shown below, should you have any doubts about the credentials of the interviewer.

Will anyone else see my answers?

Absolutely NOT. The NDS is being conducted under the provisions of the Statistics Act, 1993. In strict conformity with the Act, the CSO guarantees that the confidentiality of individual data will be fully protected at all times. The survey is also fully compliant with the requirements of data protection legislation.

What type of questions will I be asked?

The National Disability Survey (NDS) interviewer will ask questions on the following themes:

  • whether you have a condition that limits you in doing everyday activities
  • the type, degree and cause of your condition
  • your use of aids and appliances
  • the caring and help that you may receive from others
  • the attitudes of other people to you
  • any transport and building access issues that you may have
  • your education and work situation
  • your participation in social and sport activities
