Greenhouse Gas and Acid Rain Precursor Accounts for Ireland 1998-2007


Greenhouse Gas and Acid Rain Precursor Accounts for Ireland are released today in respect of the years 1998 to 2007.  These estimates emphasise gas emissions attributable to the main sectors of economic activity and are intended to complement the official estimates provided by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).


The emissions of the power generation sector have been reallocated to the sector of final demand based on sources such as the Census of Industrial Production. The results may be summarised as follows:
