As part of Census 2011, a count was performed of people who spent Census Night, April 10 2011, either sleeping rough or in accommodation providing shelter for the homeless.  This was the first time such a comprehensive approach to identifying homeless people had been undertaken as part of the census.  This publication produces the result of the count as well as analysis of several characteristics of the people enumerated including age profile, nationality, economic status and general health.
